Itinerary

Day 1 - Tbilisi city tour

You’ll start your day with learning more about the Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi. You’ll be able to visit some of its iconic landmarks, such as a 4th century Narikala Fortress, famous sulfur bath neighborhood Abanotubani, the Freedom Square, the oldest Basilica - Anchiskhati, Metekhi Church, walk on pedestrian bridge called the Peace Bridge, and visit Rike Park. You’ll listen to the history of the city, how it came to be and why it’s called Tbilisi. 

Dinner in Georgian restaurant accompanied with Georgian Traditional Dancing Show. 

Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

Day 2 - Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Ananuri - Gudauri- Stephantsminda - Tbilisi

After breakfast in the hotel, we visit the ancient capital– Mtskheta and see its historical sites: Jvari monastery (6th century) and Svetitskhoveli cathedral (11th century). Both are UNESCO World Heritage sites. 

Then we drive north towards the Northern Caucasus along the well-known Georgian Military Road. On the way we visit Ananuri fortress – a 17th century complex. And we will tell you about secrets and legends fortress Ananuri. 

On our way to Gudauri we will see a picturesque Friendship arch, which is one of the most amazing and wonderful view of this area. An exciting drive from Gudauri along the Terek River will take us to Staphantsminda – the main town in the region. 

From there , drive with 4 WD vehicles to Gergeti Trinity church (Optional - 11 USD Per Person) located at 2170m.  While good weather you can see one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus – the mountain Kazbegi (5047m). We go back to Tbilisi.

Day 3 - Tbilisi - Davit Gareja – Bodbe – Sighnaghi - Kvareli

This day starts with a drive to Kakheti region to visit its famous cave town - David Gareja (Entrance fee not included), along with beautiful Sighnaghi and Bodbe Monastery. David Gareja is a rock-hewn monastery complex, built by one of the Assyrian monks, David, who came here to spread Christianity in the 6th century. The complex features churches, chapels, hundreds of cells, and beautiful fresco paintings that are still intact. 

Sighnaghi town, known as the city of love, is a beautiful town with its red rooftops, colorful houses, and narrow cobblestone streets overlooking the picturesque Alazani Valley. Bodbe Monastery is quite close to Sighnaghi, which is the final resting place of St. Nino. Driving to Kvareli for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 4 - Kvareli - Nekresi - Alaverdi – Tbilisi

After breakfast enjoy your visit to monasteries with the centuries-long history of winemaking such Nekresi Monastery Complex (4-6th centuries). is one of the largest monastery complexes in the Kakheti region of Georgia and was founded by St. Abibos Nekreseli, one of the famous thirteen Syrian fathers. Alaverdi Monastery with wine cellar was built in the beginning of the 11th century, and was one of the tallest buildings of its time Alaverdi remains an excellent example of medieval Georgian architecture. Ikalto Monastery (6th century), which was famous as one of the most significant cultural-scholastic centers of Kakheti as well as of the whole of Georgia. Return to Tbilisi.

Day 5 - Tbilisi - Free time for shopping - Transfer - Farewell

After breakfast enjoy  free morning for the shopping
